The crown of palaces Taj is located in Agra, Uttar Pradesh which is about 73m in height. The Mughal Architecture styles have been so much astonishing since ages. The beautiful is one of the greatest monuments in the world and is located on the bank of river Yamuna.
It is said that the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan commissioned it to house the tomb to one of his wives Mumtaj Mahal. That shows the love and faith of a Mughal King to his wife and their luxurious life.
Ustad Ahmad Lahauri and 20000 Artisans were employed for the whole construction of palace. It took almost 21 years to complete the Palace and estimated cost of construction at that time was almost 501,000 USD (32 million INR) which will be almost 827 million USD by the end of 2015.
During the Mughal Empires's time of royal luxuries and prosperity, Shah Jahan's beloved wife of his three wives, Mumtaj Mahal (Persian Princess) died during the birth of her 14th child. Thus the grief stricken Shah Jahan decide to construct a tomb that can be written in history till ages. And the result of the great love story ended into The Taj Mahal. About 3 million visitors comes to Taj every year to be witness of their love story.
Myths have been spread about the Taj Mahal that Shah Jahan decided to built the palace with black marble in stead of white to be called Black Taj Mahal acros the river Yamuna. Before the starting of Taj Mahal, his son Auranzeb rudely overthrown Shah Jahan and made him his prisoner in a fort. The one more myth about Palace is that beating the silhouette of the finial will make water to come forth. A social worker and a preacher also claims that The Taj Mahal was built by Hindu king Parmar Dev in 1196.
Some mysterious about the mausoleum Taj Mahal are still unsolved.
